The Broken Kilometer, 1979, by Walter De Maria is composed of 500 solid brass rods placed in five parallel rows of 100 rods each, and would measure 3,280 feet if all elements were laid end-to-end. Commissioned/maintained by Dia Art Foundation. Open Wednesday-Sunday, 12-6pm (closed from 3-3:30)
