The Long Island Museum of American Art, History & Carriages maintains a collection of more than 40,000 items, including American artifacts and works of art. The museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums. It exhibits an antique shop and over 10 miniature rooms featuring period interiors of the 17th century. The Long Island Museum of American Art, History & Carriages also displays over 200 horse-drawn carriages. The museum s visitors include students, children, families, teachers and professors. It operates a gift shop that maintains a collection of jewelry, books and decorative items.
