Bristol Instruments flagship products include interferometer-based wavelength meters and spectrum analyzers that accurately characterize the wavelength and spectral properties of CW and pulsed lasers that operate from the visible to the mid-IR. HistorySpectra Services was incorporated in 1977 by Michael L. Specht, with a humble beginning, he worked from his home office to get things started. Michael took on the Swift brand of microscopes and expanded his product mix from there. The Olympus microscope brand noticed his success and approached him to be a distributor for Upstate NY which he did for around 10 years. Olympus now sells direct to the customer so our main line of microscopes are made by the Zeiss Company which has a long history in the microscope marketplace. He has now turned Spectra into a thriving business with 15 full-time employees. Our current facility is 14,000 sq. ft. and houses new inventory as well as one of the largest inventories of used microscopes and parts for non-current microscopes.
