Finger Lakes Radiation Oncology Center ( FLROC ), founded in 1985 by Dr. Sidney Sobel, provides a radiation treatment center for patients in the Finger Lakes area. The location of the center in historic Clifton Springs provides patients with the advantages of a small village- easy travel, convenient free parking and a community of caring. The FLROC is attached to both the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic ( CSH&C ) and The Springs. This allows our patients convenient access to their services and providers. CSH&C works with our staff to provide patients with coordinating appointments and procedures in a timely manner. The Springs, an integrated health spa for the body, mind, and spirit, offers many therapies that support cancer treatments and provide stress relief. There have been many changes in radiation therapy over the years. FLROC has technology comparable and in some cases better than technology available in large centers. Our treatment planning is more sophisticated and elegant than is common elsewhere. We also offer brachytherapy services including prostate seed implants, gynecologic implants, and Iodine therapy for thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism. Our highly skilled staff provides precise and sophisticated treatment with a caring, supportive personal touch. We take time to educate our patients and their families. The newly opened Rob and Pamela Sands Emergency Department at Rochester Regional Health reflects the system’s commitment to delivering high-quality care to the Finger Lakes region. Staffed 24/7 by licensed physicians, the department offers expert emergency services close to home. Designed to meet growing demand and enhance safety and comfort, the facility features a spacious waiting area, larger acute patient rooms with surge capacity, dedicated triage rooms, advanced trauma technology, an upgraded decontamination room, improved lighting and security, and an adjacent helipad for critical transfers. It also houses the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), offering private, safe emergency psychiatric care.
