West Side Community Services

Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled, located in Buffalo N.Y., provides individuals with developmental disabilities a range of services, including case management, housing, job training and day activities. The organization s housing and shelter services program offers temporary and long-term housing options for affected individuals. Its supported employment program helps individuals find and maintain employment through job placement, training and on-going support. Its in-home services focuses on developing life skills, including meal preparation, housekeeping and personal hygiene. Additionally, it offers day habilitation programs that give individuals an opportunity to participate in structured activities throughout the day that are designed to teach life skills and provide recreational opportunities. Its alcohol and substance abuse services program works with several addiction treatment facilities in the area to provide services geared towards individuals with developmental disabilities and to those suffering from substance abuse.
