Certified physician assistant Beth Talent knew the medical field was her destiny since college. Becoming a physician assistant was the perfect opportunity for Beth to begin practicing medicine, and helping patients, sooner. She fell in love with surgery during her clinicals and found that Novant Health was a perfect fit. Beth sees patients with a wide variety of surgical needs but particularly enjoys bowel cases, thyroid and breast surgery. Away from the office, family keeps Beth busy. She married her high school sweetheart and they have two sons and a daughter. They enjoy going to the beach, hiking and cooking together. When she has time for herself, she enjoys gardening, sewing and monogramming.

Novant Health Arbor Pediatrics

My father was a neonatologist. When I was young, I would often visit the hospital with him to see the sick babies in his care. That inspired me to become a pediatrician myself. My three younger siblings also followed our father's footsteps into the medical field, so you can say caring for others is truly the family business. \n I love working with children each day; they are so curious, full of energy and excited about the world around them. I enjoy caring for children of all ages, and have special interest in premature babies, as well as children with behavior concerns such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I believe in letting kids be kids. They are stronger than we think and a lot of times they are able to work things out for themselves if we stay out of their way. I see my role as understanding when to give them that freedom, and when intervention is necessary. When you have a concern with your child, we will get to the bottom of it, and we will avoid unnecessary medications or procedures while we do that. \n I grew up in central Florida and met my wife, Morgan, in medical school. I completed a pediatric residency here in North Carolina, and fell in love with the weather and people here. We are happy to call the Winston-Salem area home, and enjoy taking our son and our dog to local parks and swimming pools, and on adventures to find delicious North Carolina barbecue.
