Central Park School For Children

Central Park School for Children is a public elementary school located in Durham, N.C. The school s curriculum is based on research-based concepts, including developmental apropriation, and integrated hands-on training. Its curriculum includes includes English, science, math, social studies, and physical education. The school s classrooms feature activity centers that foster learning through hands-on activity sessions, and are limited to less than 15 students per classroom. Central Park School for Children administers standardized tests required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, along with authentic, naturalistic and process assessments, as recommended by the Coalition of Essential Schools. It also holds regular parent and teacher meetings and conferences.
