John Small Elementary School

John Small Elementary School is a public school that is affiliated with Beaufort County School System, which serves more than 7,000 students. The school offers academic services to students in grades four and five. It has a staff of approximately 50 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes custodians, bookkeepers, technology assistants, data managers, speech pathologists, art and music professionals, media specialists, and health and physical education instructors. The school teaches a variety of subjects, such as reading, math, science, social studies, language arts, and health and physical education. John Small Elementary School has a library and media center that operates an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practice and help students in improving their reading abilities.
