My first child was delivered by a midwife - and during the birth, she made me feel supported and empowered. I knew then that I wanted to provide that same encouragement to other women. I left my previous career to become a midwife. \n I think of the patient/provider relationship as a team. I'm not the boss; my job is to educate and guide my patients through pregnancy and support whatever choices they make for themselves. I strive to deliver the best, most personalized care possible and ensure my patients feel confident and supported. \n I was a teenage mom and had a wonderful experience delivering my first child. When I had my second baby, I felt judged. Pregnancy should be a joyful, anticipatory time. There's never any judgment in my office. \n My husband and I have two adult children, Elizabeth and Logan. We love to travel and have a goal of visiting at least two-thirds of the 63 national parks in America. I love to do anything outdoors and am always up for a camping trip. \n Other hobbies include reading; playing with our dogs, Delilah and Dexter; and dreaming up new DIY projects. I'm always trying to convince my husband that it's time to embark on our next DIY home-improvement effort.

As a certified nurse-midwife and women's health nurse practitioner, I find it an honor to be one of the first points of contact for women as they start to regularly access healthcare. I want women to have confidence in their bodies and their intuition throughout their life. \n In pregnancy and beyond, I integrate a holistic approach to maintaining health and optimizing outcomes. It is a joy to walk alongside women during life's small and big moments, providing them with expert advice and care. I believe every woman deserves a provider to be their partner in health and to guide them in, but not dictate, their care. \n If you ever see a cargo bike on a Charlotte greenway piled high with three kids, it's probably me pedaling it. I love being outside with my family. I also love to travel and to explore Charlotte's ever-growing food scene.

I discovered my passion for midwifery early in my nursing career and through my own birth experiences. Being cared for by midwives during the birth of my second child inspired me to pursue this path. My journey came full circle when I had the opportunity to be mentored by - and eventually work alongside - the same exceptional midwives who supported me during that transformative time. \n My role as a midwife is to support and guide families through this milestone and everything leading up to it. I prioritize shared decision-making to ensure that my patients have the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their care. \n By fostering a trusting relationship built on respect, education and open communication, I empower mothers-to-be to take an active role in their health and birth journeys. In addition to caring for women during pregnancy and delivery, I also provide patient-centered care for women throughout all stages of their lives. \n Being fluent in Spanish allows me to connect with and support a diverse range of patients. \n Outside work, I love spending time with my husband and two children. My hobbies include reading and spending time in nature.
