The Finance Department, governed by the city of Raleigh in North Carolina, offers accounting, purchasing, and revenue and payroll management solutions. The department serves more than 385,000 citizens, over 169,000 utility customers and nearly 4,000 employees within the city. It also performs treasury functions. The Finance Department is responsible for utility billing, financial reporting and risk management operations. The department operates an internal audit office that conducts the financial, operational and compliance audits of city departments, divisions and programs. In addition, it offers revenue projection, departmental budget development, and financial modeling and analysis solutions. The Finance Department is responsible for purchasing various equipment and supplies.
