Reynolds Coliseum, located at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, was completed in 1949 and named after William Neal Reynolds, a prominent executive of the RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. Originally proposed to accommodate large gatherings after a rainout during a Farmers Week meeting in 1940, the coliseum served as the home for NC State's men's basketball teams for nearly 50 years, including two NCAA championship teams.
With a seating capacity of 14,000, Reynolds Coliseum has hosted numerous university and city events and continues to support various NC State athletic teams and ROTC units. The facility remains a significant landmark in the university's history and community engagement.
