Established in 1911, Caswell Developmental Center serves individuals with mental problems. It also offers assistance for people with developmental disabilities and substance abuse issues. With a staff of more than 1,600 employees, the center is affiliated with North Carolina Wesleyan College. Caswell Developmental Center offers physical and occupational therapies. It maintains a communication services department provides audiology, diagnostic, therapeutic and consulting solutions for individuals with language and swallowing disorders. The center s psychological services include intellectual and adaptive assessment and interdisciplinary planning processes.
