Located at NC Music Factory compound in Charlotte, VBGB has a great beer selection and delicious food (especially the soft pretzel with beer cheese sauce). It reminds me of the beer gardens that are ubiquitous in central Europe, but the beer is cold (not to mention the frost rail on the bar). I've been going there since it opened earlier this year, and more people need to know about it! This place also has awesome giant games on the largest patio in Charlotte. Giant Chess, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, 4 sets of cornhole boards, 2 Ping Pong Tables and the whole patio is surrounded by volleyball courts... nice views in the summertime!!
If you are going to The Fillmore or Uptown Amphitheater, then you are 50ft away from either of their doors/gates. On Friday and Saturday nights, they have DJ's on the patio for the late night crowd. It gets a bit louder during those hours. Great people watching!
