Established in 1943, the Norwood Recreation Commission offers a range of entertainment activities for children, youths and adults. It provides a variety of sports programs, such as baseball, soccer, softball, basketball and football. The commission offers classes in dance, cheerleading, self-defense and pilates. The Norwood Recreation Commission also conducts swimming lessons, as well as organizes various community events. It maintains Burwood Park, Fenwick Park and Millcrest Park. The commission operates after-school and summer programs at Allison Elementary and Norwood View Elementary. In addition, the Norwood Recreation Commission provides several recreational events for senior citizens, such as aerobics, line dancing and ceramics.
