Sup-R-Die, Inc, was founded in 1956 as a tool and die distributor and manufacturer of die sets. In its early days many branches were established in the Midwest. Later on, the branches were closed after the acquisition of a grinding company where the die set manufacturing was centralized on Lakeside Avenue near downtown Cleveland, Ohio. On November 19, 1982 David L. Palisin purchased the assets and name Sup-R-Die from the original owners and merged the company with Cut-Tool & Supply. Since that time, the company has expanded its market to include machine cutting tools and mold supplies product lines in addition to its traditional tool and die maker's supplies. In 1998, an Akron branch warehouse was established to improve distribution, increase the customer base and capitalize on the mold base product lines.
