Richland Columns owner says Richland acquired the rights to produce the product and the manufacturing equipment from their former supplier, Perma-Column North, in Quincy, Mich. Richland joins the ranks of the eight licensed producers who work in conjunction with Perma-Column, Inc., headquartered in Ossian, Ind. Founded in 2004 based on his observation that the industry needed quality suppliers of manufactured laminated columns and his desire to provide this service to his industry. Today, the company has 10 employees, and keeps two trucks on the road delivering product to a network of 200 lumberyards in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Iowa.
