We're a small family-owned business. The current owners have had the company since 1972. The previous owners had formed Racelite Southcoast by merging two hardware companies - Racelite which was established on the east coast in the 1930s and Southcoast. We still do all of our manufacturing at our facility in Ohio, producing a wide variety of hardware including custom parts for boat builders and other industries. Historically, we have sold almost exclusively to boat builders and some retailers. We started selling directly to sailors with our website offering a sampling of our hardware a couple of years ago, but this area of business is still relatively new to us. We are pleased to provide the original hardware for many boat builders. Examples of boat classes that have used our hardware include Flying Scot, Thistle, Lightning, Rebel, Precision, Rhodes-22, 420, Buccaneer, American Sail, Hobie, West White Potter, Snipe, Highlander, El Toro, Sabot, Jet 14, Norseboat, and Butterfly. Some parts that we manufacture are offered exclusively through the boat builder.
