Deborah Bartholomew, MD, is a general obstetrician gynecologist and associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She has dual board certification in anatomic pathology and obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Bartholomew joined the faculty at Ohio State in 1998 as an associate professor. Her clinical interests include general obstetrics and gynecology. She practices at Stoneridge Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Bartholomew was one of the first gynecologists to include robotic surgery in her minimally invasive surgery skills. She developed a regional Vulvar Clinic at Ohio State which provides care to women from Ohio and surrounding states with vulvar disease. Dr. Bartholomew was honored with an invitation to join the International Society of Vulvar Vaginal Disease (ISSVD) after presenting her research in the treatment of vulvodynia with gabapentin. She is the president-elect of the North American chapter of the ISSVD. Her platform will be development of a multidisciplinary curriculum for residents. Her interest in pathology continues and is evident in her commitment to resident education in the field of colposcopy and cervical pathology. She was awarded the Colposcopy Recognition Award by the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Current research areas include HPV DNA detection techniques and HPV vaccines. She has received multiple teaching awards including the APGO Excellence in Medical Education Award, and the CREOG National Faculty Awar r. Bartholomew attended the Medical College of Virginia with an Armed Forces Health Professions full scholarship. She graduated in 1983 and went on to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the David Grant USAF residency program in California. She was awarded a sponsored Obstetrics and Gynecologic Pathology fellowship and a second residency in anatomic pathology at the University of California-Davis. Her research
