Mission Essential Personnel, also known as MEP, is a global mission support organization that serves the US Government and multinational corporations. Founded in 2003, the organization provides cultural and language experts in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. It specializes in customized human capital, project management, operational support and training solutions. Mission Essential Personnel has a staff of more than 4,000 personnel throughout the world. It provides translators in Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Azeri, Bahasa Melayu, French, Russian, Turkish, Uigur, Urdu and Uzbek. The organization supplies security-cleared linguists and trainers to the United States, Afghanistan, Iraq, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Kenya, as well as Europe. In addition, Mission Essential Personnel provides intelligence support and program and policy management services to intelligence and law enforcement agencies and the Departments of State and Defense. It is a member of the UN Global Compact, the International Peace Operations Association, and Imagine Asia. The organization operates offices in Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, California and New York, as well as Germany and Italy.
