Established in 1938, Catholic Charities is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of social welfare services. The organization operates more than 25 offices and programs to serve over 10 counties within the Diocese of Harrisburg. Its programs focus on counseling, long-term substance abuse treatment, homeless family shelter, and personal and maternity care. Located in Lorain, Ohio., Girl Scouts North East Ohio is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of programs for girls between the ages of 5 and 17. The organization provides financial assistance services for program participants. It also offers Girls Only, which is a Web site that enables girls to play games and quizzes, share stories and send e-cards to friends and family members. The organization provides product sale programs for Daisy Brownie, Junior, Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts. It also offers day and resident camps that include a variety of activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, archery, swimming and canoeing.
