Conformal Radiation Therapy Jane Phillips Cancer Center's Radiation Oncology department offers both three dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy for cancer treatment. The centerpiece of the Cancer Center's radiation oncology unit is a Varian 2300 EX linear accelerator. The linear accelerator permits the radiation oncologist to precisely calculate the correct dosage of radiation needed to destroy cancer while minimizing damage to healthy organs and/or tissue around the cancer site.
