Established in 1989, Balloon Flying Service of Oregon provides scenic hot air balloon rides over the cities of Salem and Keizer, from mid May through late October. BFSO conducts flights early in the morning, shortly after sunrise, when the winds are calm to light. Its flights traverse across the city, farms and occasionally swim on the surface of a river or lake.
