David is a Managing Director and Principal in the Robertson Stephens Portland office. David's portfolio management and advisory experience spans more than 25 years and he brings a seasoned perspective to portfolio construction and practice management.Prior to Robertson Stephens, David co-founded Rain Capital. He was the Chief Portfolio Strategist and was responsible for the overall investment philosophy, portfolio construction, and managing client assets. David was also the firm's Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to co-founding Rain Capital, David was a co-founder, President and Chief Investment Officer of one of the early Portland-based RIA's, Pacific Investment Advisors (PIA). Under David's leadership, PIA was one of the early adopters of incorporating non-traditional assets into the portfolio construction process. Subsequently, David merged his practice into Arnerich Massena, where he was Director of the Wealth Management Group.David holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Delaware. David enjoys hiking and biking in the PNW and traveling with his family. He is also an avid seeker of new music across different genres.
