WJ Skatepark + Urban Plaza in Eugene, OR is a world-class skatepark and urban hangout spot that caters to both beginners and expert skaters. Spanning 23,000 sq. ft., the park features an iconic ribbon, mini-snake run, and a variety of skate terrain. In addition to the skatepark, the facility includes basketball courts, horseshoe pits, accessible pathways, restrooms, bike racks, benches, drinking fountains, energy-efficient lighting, landscaping, and areas for food carts and special events.
With a collective vision of local youth, the skatepark was brought to life after a decade of persistence. The park's renovation also revitalized the surrounding Washington Jefferson Park, transforming it from a neglected area plagued by social problems into a vibrant connection between neighborhoods. The total renovation was made possible through a $2.5 million investment of public and private funds, with support from the City of Eugene, Oregon State Park and Recreation Department, and various community organizations.
