Started by a group of volunteers, St. Joseph s Center works to provide care, concern, compassion and commitment to patients and their families. Located in Scranton, Pa., it offers pregnancy, outpatient therapy, and family and adoption services. The center also conducts various extensive residential and community-based programs for children and adults diagnosed with mental retardation. Established in 1888, St. Joseph s serves residents throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.
