Dr. Strain is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He obtained his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed a General Surgery internship at the University of Chicago and completed his residency in General Surgery at Stanford University, where he served as Senior Chief Resident. He completed a Medical Informatics fellowship at the National Institutes of Health/National Library of Medicine at Stanford University Hospital followed by a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Harvard University Hospital.
