Founded in 1987, Columbus Apartments provides a variety of affordable housing options for homeless individuals. It offers furnished and Section 8 subsidized rooms that provide privacy and basic household necessities for low-income senior citizens. Columbus Apartments is a facility operated by Community Shelter Services, also known as CSS, which is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter, meal and referral services for homeless individuals and families. Established in 1973, Community Shelter Services offers 24-hour clothing, transportation and medical services for individuals with social, emotional and physical disabilities. It also provides group counseling, education and training in the areas of effective parenting, self-esteem, anger management, budgeting and positive relationships through its qualified professionals.
