Gettysburg is one of the small towns of Pennsylvania. A northern community, the city comprises English, German, Irish, and African-Americans of various religious, economic, and cultural backgrounds. It offers a wide variety of historical resources, including Adams County Historical Society, Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides, Borough of Gettysburg, Civil War Institute, Evergreen Cemetery Association, and Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg. The city features some of the leading hotels and resorts in the United States, such as Sentimental Journey B & B, America's Best Inn, the Brafferton Inn, Budget Host, Colton Motel Cricket House at Gettysburg, Farnsworth House Inn, Gettysburg Hotel, and 1 Lincoln Square.

The goals of the Authority, Official Board, Manager, and its employees, are to provide to our customers a safe, adequate, reliable and cost effective supply of water as well as the collection and treatment of Wastewater, while planning for future growth, and continuing to meet or exceed all Local, State and Federal Agencies guidelines pertaining to water and wastewater services. The Gettysburg Municipal Authority (GMA) provides quality water and wastewater service to the Gettysburg Borough and portions of Cumberland and Straban Townships.
