Skills of Central Pennsylvania Inc

Established in 1960, Skills of Central Pennsylvania is one of the oldest and largest human service provider organizations in central Pennsylvania. It is a private, nonprofit organization that serves more than 1,100 individuals with disabilities in nearly 14 counties and employs over 900 staff members. The organization employs behavior support specialists who create individualized plans to help people develop adaptive behaviors and reduce problem behaviors that interfere with learning and community life. Skills of Central Pennsylvania offers Personal SPACE, a 10-week violence prevention training for women and men with developmental disabilities. Its housing support services include three residences for people with mental illnesses and low-income families. In addition, the organization provides home ownership assistance and supported living services, such as scheduling and transporting individuals to medical appointments and assisting individuals with budget-related issues. Skills of Central Pennsylvania is located in Lewistown, Pa.
