Temple University Hospital began in 1892 as Samaritan Hospital, 20-bed hospital in a three-story house on North Broad Street. Now, 125 years later, Temple University Hospital is one of the region's most respected academic medical centers. Temple University Hospital is a 722-bed teaching hospital where patients have access to renowned physicians, nurses and researchers. The hospital is also the chief clinical training site for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
