In continuous operation since 1809, Brown & Hopkins Country Store is the oldest, continuously running general store in America! Built in 1799 as a hattery, it now boosts two floors filled with gifts, food, home decor, and so much more. The 225+ year old building has many of its original features too, such as the gorgeous wood counters, undulating floors, “wall of history,” penny candy, and National cash register. A wonderfully inviting and cozy experience to “shop for the present while embracing the past.” Set in the lovely town of Chepachet, there are additional antique, local artisan, and pet shops to explore as well. Under new ownership since July 1, 2024, the new proprietors, Scott and Cindy Barlow, look forward to seeing you soon!

Not a fan of this store. The owner is a ass and everyone that works there are just plan rude. Over all there stuff is yard sale,,at best. They have hand made soaps and home made candy. Both suck....
