Conanicut Battery is a historic Revolutionary War fortification located on Conanicut Island near Jamestown, Rhode Island. Established in 1776, it was initially a Patriot stronghold before being captured and occupied by British forces, and later by French Marines, until its abandonment in 1781.
The site features earthworks and a commanding view of the West Passage, with remnants of its military significance evident from its past uses, including its role during World War I and II as part of Fort Getty. Today, Conanicut Battery is recognized for its historical importance and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
