Pickens Savings and Loan Association was organized as the Pickens Building and Loan Association. The corporation began by charter on May 5, 1920. The general nature of the business, according to charter, was to make loans secured by mortgage of real estate, stocks, bonds, or other securities ; to build and rent homes ; to buy and sell real estate, stocks, notes and bonds ; and to conduct and operate the association in accordance with the provisions of the law.
