Zachary M. Soler, M.D. MSc, joined the MUSC sinus center in 2011. Originally from coastal Florida, Dr. Soler attended medical school at Wake Forest University, followed by a residency in otolaryngology -- head and neck surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He then completed a fellowship dedicated solely to rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery at Harvard Medical School. After fellowship, Dr. Soler spent an additional year at the Harvard School of Public Health, earning a Master's Degree in epidemiology.Dr. Soler's practice is dedicated primarily to diseases of the nose, sinuses, and skull base. He treats adults and children with a wide range of conditions, ranging from common allergies and sinusitis to skull base tumors and CSF leaks. He has particular expertise with difficult-to-manage cases of sinusitis, revision sinus surgery, and surgical treatment of sino-nasal tumors. He sees patients in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, and downtown Charleston.Dr. Soler has authored over 100 manuscripts and book chapters related to otolaryngology and rhinology. His research focus is on optimizing clinical outcomes after medical and surgical treatment of chronic sinusitis. He is a principal investigator on several large studies funded through the National Institutes of Health and the American Rhinologic Society. He is board certified through the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Rhinologic Society. Dr. Christopher E. Gross is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery currently serving as the Director of the Foot and Ankle Division and Fellowship Director at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgery after completing his residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He graduated from Harvard Medical School. As an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Gross is interested in complex reconstruction of the ankle in addition to cartilage injuries that range from small defects to end-stage ankle arthritis. With his partner Dr. Scott, he has developed a multidisciplinary research division by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, improved implant design, and long-term patient outcomes. He is the author of over 90 published journal articles, 30 textbook chapters, and is the editor/author of a textbook about Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgery. He has over 250 national and international presentations relating to orthopaedics.

Dr. John Cox is a clinical professor of pulmonary medicine, with a faculty appointment to the Department of Medicine and consulting privileges at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Dr. Cox's main area of interest is in the care of patients with asthma, especially the most severe cases of persistent asthma. With his dual board certification in pulmonary medicine and allergy/immunology, he is able to offer a comprehensive range of testing and treatment options for patients. He is director of the comprehensive asthma clinic, within the division of pulmonary, critical care, allergy, and sleep medicine at MUSC. He also sees patients with general pulmonary problems and allergic complaints, such as allergic rhinitis.Dr. Cox was born and raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Bucknell University and George Washington University Medical School. There he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and completed a combined pulmonary and allergy/immunology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.He served four years in the Air Force, as chief of pulmonary medicine at Andrews AFB. Following completion of his military service, he returned to central Pennsylvania and engaged in private practice from 1993 until 2015, when he became a full-time faculty member of the MUSC pulmonary division.
