Dent Middle School

Irmo High School operates under the School District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties. It offers classes from grades nine through 12 and enrolls more than 1,800 students every year. The school provides a wide range of educational programs in various subjects, including sociology, biology, chemistry, music, physics, mathematics and physical education. Irmo High School also provides a variety of services and facilities for students, such as scholarships, athletic events, debates and writing competitions and career counseling service. Established in 1974, Leaphart Elementary School is located in Columbia, S.C. The school provides educational services to students in kindergarten through grade five. Its staff includes classroom and resource teachers, teaching assistants, specialists, counselors, social workers, and office and support personnel. The school offers a variety of extracurricular programs in art, music and physical education. In addition, Waxhaw Elementary School conducts foreign language sessions in Spanish and offers the English as a Second Language program. It provides medical care; occupational and speech therapies; and guidance and counseling services to students. The school also provides several after-school programs in arts and crafts and enrichment activities. Located in Waxhaw, N.C., Waxhaw Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that supports and sponsors several school events and activities.
