Erin Beth Seery, MD

Dr. Steele received her Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature in English, French, Italian, and Greek from Wellesley College. She then worked as a youth director in the Episcopal Church and a teacher with Teach For America before attending medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed a residency in general psychiatry, serving as a Chief Resident in her fourth year, and a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Her current role at MUSC is performing acute psychiatric assessments in the emergency department and seeing cadets for outpatient psychiatric care and crisis appointments as medical director of the Citadel Counseling Center.

Dr. Rachel Getzenberg is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at MUSC. Dr. Getzenberg received a bachelor's degree in psychology from George Washington University before receiving her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She then completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Getzenberg has a strong interest in treating mental health conditions of young people, especially kids and teenagers with medical illnesses. She enjoys spending time outside with her family and dog.

William J. Schandall, FNP-BC, MSN, MA, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Family Medicine. He earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Psychology from Rowan University and a Master's in Counseling/Clinical Psychology from Jersey City State University. Later, he furthered his nursing education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Family Medicine from Francis Marion University. He started working as a registered nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011, where he led the Medical-Surgical float pool as the first nurse to "float" to the Institute of Psychiatry. He is an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has over 12 years of experience working as an R.N.
