Lilia C. Lovera, M.D. is an assistant professor of neurology in the Movement Disorders Division at the Medical University of South Carolina. After graduating with honors with a bachelor of science from the University of Miami, she earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Loyola University Medical Center, in Maywood, Illinois, where she served as chief resident in her last year. After residency, she completed her movement disorders fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Lovera’s special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, Huntington’s disease, tremors, and ataxias, as well as other movement disorders. She can also perform chemodenervation with botulinum toxin injections and deep brain stimulation programming when indicated. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
