She received her doctorate in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 1993 and completed her internal medicine residency there in 1996. The following year she was chosen to be a chief resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. With that appointment, she joined the faculty of MUSC and is presently an associate professor of medicine with board certification in internal medicine.Dr. Davis' clinical practice is located at University Internal Medicine -- Rutledge Tower, where she has been the physician clinical director since 1999. Her clinical work has earned her recognition as one of the Best Doctors in America since 2003 and her clinical interests include hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and health promotion/preventative care medicine.Dr. Davis is currently the clinical vice chair of the Department of Medicine and involved in many committees at MUSC in her role.
