Zachary M. Soler, M.D. MSc, joined the MUSC sinus center in 2011. Originally from coastal Florida, Dr. Soler attended medical school at Wake Forest University, followed by a residency in otolaryngology -- head and neck surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He then completed a fellowship dedicated solely to rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery at Harvard Medical School. After fellowship, Dr. Soler spent an additional year at the Harvard School of Public Health, earning a Master's Degree in epidemiology.Dr. Soler's practice is dedicated primarily to diseases of the nose, sinuses, and skull base. He treats adults and children with a wide range of conditions, ranging from common allergies and sinusitis to skull base tumors and CSF leaks. He has particular expertise with difficult-to-manage cases of sinusitis, revision sinus surgery, and surgical treatment of sino-nasal tumors. He sees patients in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, and downtown Charleston.Dr. Soler has authored over 100 manuscripts and book chapters related to otolaryngology and rhinology. His research focus is on optimizing clinical outcomes after medical and surgical treatment of chronic sinusitis. He is a principal investigator on several large studies funded through the National Institutes of Health and the American Rhinologic Society. We apologize for any inconvenience. Kimberly S. Davis, M.D. FACP, graduated cum laude with a BS in Microbiology in 1987 from Clemson University. She received her doctorate in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 1993 and completed her internal medicine residency there in 1996. The following year she was chosen to be a chief resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. With that appointment, she joined the faculty of MUSC and is presently an associate professor of medicine with board certification in internal medicine.Dr. Davis' clinical practice is located at University Internal Medicine -- Rutledge Tower, where she has been the physician clinical director since 1999. Her clinical work has earned her recognition as one of the Best Doctors in America since 2003 and her clinical interests include hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and health promotion/preventative care medicine.Dr. Davis is currently the clinical vice chair of the Department of Medicine and involved in many committees at MUSC in her role. She has also been heavily involved in the dissemination of an integrated ambulatory care electronic health record for the university and chairs the steering group for the patient portal, MUSC Health MyChart. She has served on the executive council of the South Carolina chapter of the American College of Physicians since 2000, presently chairing its Scientific Meeting Committee. In addition, she is an active member of the Society of General Internal Medicine.

Dr. Bruce Thiers was born in New York City and graduated from Brooklyn College and the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, where he remained for his postgraduate training. After a straight medical internship, he completed his residency in dermatology in 1978 and passed the certifying examination of the American Board of Dermatology the same year. He joined the faculty of the Department of Dermatology in Buffalo in 1979 and relocated with other members of the department to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston later that year. Dr. Thiers was associate editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology from 1988 to 1998 and became its chief editor in 2008. He also served 12 years as editor of the Year Book of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and is now consulting editor for Dermatologic Clinics. He has served as vice president of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a former member of the board of directors of that organization. He is listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in American Education, Best Doctors in America, and American Men and Women of Science. His area of expertise is dermatologic therapeutics with a special interest in psoriasis, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and skin cancer.
