Palmetto Middle School, established in 1953 and located in Williamston, S.C., is governed by the Anderson School District One. It teaches classes from six through grade eight, and enrolls more than 700 students. Palmetto Middle School provides a wide range of programs and activities, including yearbook, academic enrichment program, band and chorus, field trips, and athletic activities. It also offers various services, such as school nurse, speech therapist, food and transport services, science and technical labs, media center, and playgrounds. The school provides an extensive curriculum that follows district guidelines and state standards. Palmetto Middle School is the middle level winner of the Carolina First Palmetto s Finest Award, 2004.

L.E. Gable Middle School, named after a former Spartanburg School District 6 educator and administrator, is located in a rural community in Roebuck, in the Piedmont region of South Carolina. The school is designed with three wings that house the sixth, seventh and eighth grades, a total body of more than 750 students. Founded in 1981, it is located on more than 50-acres acres of land that includes a nature trail and space for outdoor activities, as well as tennis courts, track and stadium facilities. It provides a comprehensive educational program, including core subjects, such as mathematics, English, social studies and science. L.E. Gable Middle School provides students with various options for extracurricular activities, such as its yearbook, newspaper, band and sports, such as basketball, volleyball and football, softball, swimming and tennis.

Established in 1990, Fourth Street Elementary School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Georgia Accrediting Commission. The school offers lessons to more than 400 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school features a fundamental academic program with an emphasis on reading and math skills. It operates through special education teachers, school nurses, speech and language pathologists, psychologists and academic coaches. The school has a media center that offers a collection of Internet resources, books, magazines and newspapers to stimulate the intellectual development of students and staff. Located in Athens, Ga., Fourth Street Elementary School is managed by the Clarke County School District.
