Dr. Brittainy Erby was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a graduate of Ohio University Class of 2013 in Athens, Ohio. She graduated from this institution Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in psychology. Dr. Erby obtained her medical degree at the Boonshoft School of Medicine through Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, in 2017. Dr. Ethan Ashley is originally from Dallas, Texas but completed his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Public Health from the University of Georgia Honors College in 2013 and then returned to Texas to complete his M.D. from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2017. He then moved to Charleston for his residency training in Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also served as chief resident. After finishing his residency in 2021, he joined the faculty at MUSC as an Assistant Professor. He worked in the Institute of Psychiatry Adult Inpatient unit for two years, where he treated a variety of mood/anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders while also supervising residents and medical students. He then joined the Brain Stimulation Laboratory Division in the Department of Psychiatry in 2023. As a member of the Brain Stimulation team, he provides different brain stimulation treatments for various psychiatric disorders, such as treatment-resistant depression. These treatments include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). He continues to also treat patients on the adult inpatient unit at the IOP while supervising residents and 3rd and 4th-year medical students.
