Dr. Martin believes children are very interesting and motivating. She wants to be a part of your family and have a level of comfort to talk about anything. Dr. Martin values parental input and honesty about a child's progression. When not at work, Dr. Martin may be found with her kids on an outdoor adventure or possibly running a marathon.

A commitment to pediatrics means a love for children. It also means having the satisfaction of providing medical care and support for our most precious resource. Interaction with families is important to ensure a child is receiving the proper resources in all environments. For over 20 years I have had the privilege to provide comprehensive care for infants to young adults. It is an honor that I hold true to my heart and cannot express properly in words. Our children today are the future leaders of our country. I take pride in the role I play in helping to nurture and provide guidance for my patients and their families and will strive to continue this commitment throughout my career.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Katherine Matthias, DO, is thrilled to have finally moved away from those cold northern winters! She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. Matthias attended medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, where her training emphasized the unity of all the body’s systems. After medical school, Dr. Matthias moved south to complete her training through the Pediatrics Primary Care Track at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board-certified in Pediatrics. She enjoys caring for newborns and giving advice to breastfeeding mothers, providing preventive care in the form of nutrition and exercise counseling, and treating patients with ADHD. Outside of work, Dr. Matthias can be found hiking, camping, boating, practicing yoga or relaxing with her husband and young daughters. She also enjoys traveling internationally and has been involved in a number of medical mission trips abroad.
