Vanessa Hinson, M.D. Ph.D. is professor of neurology and director of the Movement Disorders Program at MUSC. She earned her medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Hamburg School of Medicine in Hamburg, Germany. After completing a research fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she trained in neurology in Muenster, Germany. She completed her residency at MUSC where she also served as chief resident. Following fellowship training in movement disorders at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, she joined MUSC's faculty. Dr. Hinson's special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of dystonia, botulinum toxin injections, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and other movement disorders.

Dr. Delaney also specializes in the treatment of abdominal wall ventral incisional hernias that require the specialty repair technique of component separation due to the recurrence or large size of the hernias. A graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM), he completed his general surgery residency as well as a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Delaney then completed a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Delaney is currently an assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Joel Cook grew up in Northeast Tennessee and came to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston where he graduated magna cum laude. Enamored with Charleston, he remained here for his medical school education at MUSC where he graduated second in his class. Following medical school, he completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Virginia. His dermatology residency was at MUSC. He then completed the prestigious fellowship in Mohs and dermatologic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, Shadyside in 1997.Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Cook joined the faculty of the Department of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He currently is a professor of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the division head of Dermatologic Surgery. He has held many national appointments including the board of directors of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has published extensively on varied topics in cutaneous oncology and reconstructive dermatologic surgery. He is the director of the fellowship training program in Dermatologic Surgery.Dr. Cook is regarded as one of the country's leading experts on Mohs and reconstructive dermatologic surgery and frequently lectures at national and international meetings. His area of expertise is Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive dermatologic surgery. His special interest is flap reconstruction of post-surgical facial defects. Dr. Cook has completed over 55,000 Mohs procedures. Dr. Cook has participated in several multicenter national clinical trials for Mohs surgery and melanoma treatments.
