The best ice cream and it's homemade in small batches daily. Prices are good and the flavors are amazing. I had pistachio and huckleberry. Both were excellent.

Horatio's Homemade Ice Cream is a locally, family-owned and operated, small batch ice cream shop in downtown Custer, South Dakota, the oldest town in the Black Hills. We are located in the 1881 First National Bank of Dakota Territory Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We make all of our premium ice cream, sorbets and non-dairy options in -house. You can get yours in a fresh hand rolled waffle cone! Our menu also features sundaes, floats and ice cream sandwiches. Fresh brewed coffee and ice tea are also available. Flavors are ever-changing, keeping it fresh! We are open seasonally, mid-March through October, and have pop-up dates throughout the winter. We think our ice cream is as good as gold!

What a fun place! Service was great, employees were nice, and the butterscotch ice cream with butterscotch sauce- amazing! Definitely try it out!

Their waffle cone is to die for and the smell is mind blowing! I got the cotton candy one and it did not taste like anything . Id say more vanilla but not even vanilla. Quite frustrating. 4 stars...

NO to samples, could get out of control in a tourist town. Flavors were not special and not extra creamy. They do make good fresh waffle cones, but making them must make them grumpy employees...
