Founded in 1850, Porter-Leath Children's Center offers a wide variety of services in developmental, health and social programs to more than 10,000 children and families. It has an early childhood home visitation program that includes child development sessions and serves parenting families with children from up to 5 years of age. The center offers a preschool program that includes health and developmental screenings. It also has a child and adult care food program providing meals to more than 700 children every day. Porter-Leath Children's Center provides a therapeutic program for runaway children and youth. It also has foster care and residential program providing services to children from dysfunctional families. The center is located in Memphis, Tenn.
