Founded in 1943, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is a nonprofit social and health service organization that serves more than 100,000 individuals annually. It operates an immigrant legal assistance center that provides legal representation to persons with low income. The organization provides disaster recovery services with the assistance of a case manager. It additionally conducts life skills seminars and intensive workshops for individuals, groups, families and couples. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston organizes prenatal care and childbirth education classes. The organization features advocacy, health care and domestic violence prevention programs. It also provides job placement and resettlement services for refugees.
