The Secret Garden

History

My business sprang from my love of gardening and my desire to have a physically active career out of doors. I started out maintaining perennial, herb, and wild flower gardens. This grew into a successful residential landscape maintenance business. Through the years as my knowledge grew I began designing and installing gardens. I have worked all over Nashville and the surrounding area and have had some of the same maintenance clients for over 20 years. My fondest desire has been to be of service in maintaining an immaculate garden for my clients. Although my work crew changes from year to year, my intention is to have a polite, hard working, knowledgeable crew with whom the customer can easily communicate.

Specialties

The Secret Garden specializes in design, installation and maintenance of residential gardens.It is a passion of mine to create beautiful, intimate natural spaces that are pleasing to the senses. With much attention to detail, I hope to create a peaceful retreat for my customers from this busy hectic world. We maintain perennial, herb, wildflower, vegetable, and native gardens as well as general landscape beds with shrubs and trees. With the recent interest in environmental issues associated with storm water run off, The Secret Garden has been involved in a neighborhood wide rain garden project. A rain garden is a low spot in the garden where water collects to percolate through the soil. In cooperation with The Cumberland River compact, we provided rain garden designs for homeowners to choose from. In 2015 The Nations neighborhood planted over 100 rain gardens in their alleys, beautifying what has been areas that are prone to dumping and crime. The Secret Garden in addition to providing the designs was involved in supporting the planting of the gardens which was provided by Hands On Nashville.
