Angela Downes, MD

Dr. Angela Downes is a board-certified neurosurgeon with advanced training in minimally invasive spine surgery and neuro critical care. During her extensive career, she has developed a reputation for handling complex brain, spine, and nervous system cases, ranging from brain and skull base tumors to minimally invasive spine surgery and neurotrauma. Dr. Downes served for nearly a decade as an assistant professor of Neurosurgery for the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colo., where she played an active role in advancing both clinical practice and medical education. She also spent several years as a neurosurgeon with Denver Health Hospital before relocating to North Texas in 2025. Dr. Downes is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
