Criminal Justice Department

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice s Correctional Institutions Division was established in 1992 and has a capacity to accommodate up to 600 offenders. The division offers ambulatory medical, dental and mental health care services. It also administers the English as a Second Language programs. The division offers services to city and county agencies, local school district and organizations. It additionally administers substance abuse education programs. The division works with a team of more than 110 staff members. It is a part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, which works to manage offenders in state prisons, jails and private correctional facilities.
