Born into a musical family, Troy spent his early years at the Opera, Ballet, and Concert Hall, listening to his father play classical clarinet in the orchestra. At the age of 13, he made his way into the recording studio with friend Vinnie Paul Abbott (Pantera). Troy began his professional career as a studio drummer at age 15.
