HistoryGrand Master Gedo Chang originally learned Hapkido from his father, a Buddhist monk. He was also a contemporary of Master Ji. In his twenties Master Chang left the mountains of Chungnam province and the monastery he had grown up in. Arriving in the city he became formally recognized as a master (1964) by the newly created Korean Hapkido Association. He then opened his school in Korea and called it Wol Ge Kwan which means

HistoryThe owner of Open Space married her passions of music, movement and community to form a place in Wimberley where people of all ages can be creative, release stress and anxiety, learn and grow in new endeavors, and get to know their neighbors. Open Space offers a variety of ongoing classes, such as yoga, pilates, bellydance, and cardio classes, as well community events such as Sip and Paint nights, Self Defense seminars and Creative Writing workshops. The schedule is always updated with new and exciting events/classes, so check out the calendar online! Also offered at Open Space are individual beginning guitar and vocal performance lessons. The space is available on the weekends for private party rental for birthdays, CE classes, etc. At Open Space, we believe in supporting health and wellness through mental, physical and spiritual endeavors.
